"top twenty fantastic farm stays”

Spring is definitely here, tulips in full glory and the wonderfully scented pink apple blossom is out in the orchards.  Added to that one of the ducks has made a nest and laid fourteen eggs right outside the front door.  Sadly I think they are too exposed and will probably get stolen by a fox unless the duck is very careful with them.  Walking takes on a new meaning with the abundance of wild flowers and the acid green of new foliage.  Kent is especially good for bluebells and the orchids on the chalk downland.  The breakfast menu reflects the new season with asparagus and poached eggs or rocket and bacon.  The summer fruits are just beginning with the first of the English strawberries.

The good things of life remain the same with light, spacious, comfortable rooms well equipped with fluffy towels and bathrobes, luxury toiletries and an extensive hostess tray and all the little extras you will appreciate in our country home.  If you really can’t leave the laptop behind or are traveling on business we have WiFi broadband for your convenience.

Our breakfasts are the subject of many comments in the visitors book.  As we use home grown and local seasonal produce the menu changes frequently, although always keeping the old favourites.  It's such a simple pleasure to take time for a proper breakfast to set you up for the day.

With a resident vegetarian, that option is never a problem and other diets can be catered for if you give me advance notice

Brenley is an elegant, early Georgian farmhouse on a traditional Kentish working farm. Situated amidst the hop gardens, orchards and paddocks, yet with easy access to the many attractions the area has to offer. Whether you come for a short break to take life at a more leisurely pace, or a longer stay to explore the delights of Kent, we have something for everyone.

The mediaeval town of Faversham and the historic cathedral city of Canterbury jostle with the quaint seaside town of Whitstable and beaches of Margate and Joss Bay. With castles and gardens, zoo parks and bird watching, shopping or supping the local beer from the Shepherd Neame Brewery in Faversham, you can do everything - or nothing. Just relax in the garden or take an easy stroll around the farm, woods or nearby shoreline, or why not play a round of golf at Boughton Golf Club (Pay and Play) which is only a mile away.
